Sultanate of Oman

The information presented in this report shows the interaction of Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman in terms of economic and social factors.

In December 2025, Saudi Arabia exported 3.1 billion to Sultanate of Oman, representing 1.6% of Saudi Arabia's total exports during that month.

The main products exported by Saudi Arabia to Sultanate of Oman in December 2025 were mineral fuels, oils and waxes and vehicles other than railway or tramway; parts thereof.

Regarding non-oil exports, these amounted to 599.7 million, with vehicles, aircraft, vessels and associated transport equipment being the main product exported to Sultanate of Oman.

In December 2025, Saudi Arabia imported 1.7 billion from Sultanate of Oman, representing 2.0% of Saudi Arabia's total imports during that month.

The main products imported by Saudi Arabia from Sultanate of Oman in December 2025 were mineral fuels, oils and waxes and boilers, machinery, mechanical goods; parts thereof.

Sultanate of Oman achieved positive growth in the foreign direct investment (FDI) stock at the end of 2024 with Saudi Arabia, which amounted to 5.0 billion, compared to the FDI stock of 2023, which was 3.8 billion.

In December 2025, exports from Saudi Arabia to Sultanate of Oman amounted to 3.1 billion (1.6% of total exports), while imports from Sultanate of Oman amounted to 1.7 billion (2.0% of total imports). As a result, the trade balance resulted in a surplus of 1.4 billion.

Saudi Arabia's exports to Sultanate of Oman in 2025 reached a total of 20.3 billion. The main section wise exports in terms of commercial value were mineral fuels, oils and waxes ( 11.6 billion), ships, boats and floating structures ( 1.3 billion), and vehicles other than railway or tramway; parts thereof ( 1.2 billion).

Non-Oil Exports

Non-oil exports from Saudi Arabia to Sultanate of Oman in March 2026 reached a total of 599.7 million. The main non-oil exports were vehicles, aircraft, vessels and associated transport equipment ( 214.7 million), products of the chemical industries ( 151.5 million), and prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco ( 59.5 million).

Imports by Main Section

Saudi Arabia's imports from Sultanate of Oman in 2025 reached a total of 15.8 billion. The main section wise imports in terms of commercial value were mineral fuels, oils and waxes ( 5.5 billion), boilers, machinery, mechanical goods; parts thereof ( 3.3 billion), and iron and steel ( 3.2 billion).

In 2024, 5.0 billion in FDI stock were recorded, being higher by 31.8% compared to the previous year.

FDI Flow

In 2024, the value of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Inflow was 1.3 billion while the FDI Outflow reached a value of 63.6 million. These amounts resulted in an FDI Net Inflow of 1.2 billion, higher by 18.2% than the previous year.

Note:

FDI inflows: Financial transactions that arise between the FDI institution, direct investors and related companies outside the Saudi economy, which occur during a certain period of time, and form inflows when their positive impact appears in excess of equity and/or debt instruments.

FDI outflows: These are financial transactions that arise between the Foreign Direct Investment Corporation, direct investors, and related companies outside the Saudi economy, and which occur during a certain period of time. They are outflows when their impact appears in a decrease in the side of obligations, such as paid dividends or repayment of loans and credit receivables, or when the foreign shareholder exits.

FDI net inflow: It represents the difference between inflows and outflows of foreign direct investment inflows.
