The information presented in this report shows the interaction of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in terms of economic and social factors.

In December 2025, Saudi Arabia exported 1.7 billion to Malaysia, representing 0.9% of Saudi Arabia's total exports during that month.

The main products exported by Saudi Arabia to Malaysia in December 2025 were mineral fuels, oils and waxes and plastics and articles thereof.

Regarding non-oil exports, these amounted to 79.9 million, with machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment, parts thereof being the main product exported to Malaysia.

In December 2025, Saudi Arabia imported 567.6 million from Malaysia, representing 0.7% of Saudi Arabia's total imports during that month.

The main products imported by Saudi Arabia from Malaysia in December 2025 were copper and articles thereof and animal or vegetable fats, oils and waxes.

Malaysia achieved positive growth in the foreign direct investment (FDI) stock at the end of 2024 with Saudi Arabia, which amounted to 2.9 billion, compared to the FDI stock of 2023, which was 2.6 billion.

In December 2025, exports from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia amounted to 1.7 billion (0.9% of total exports), while imports from Malaysia amounted to 567.6 million (0.7% of total imports). As a result, the trade balance resulted in a surplus of 1.1 billion.

Saudi Arabia's exports to Malaysia in 2025 reached a total of 25.3 billion. The main section wise exports in terms of commercial value were mineral fuels, oils and waxes ( 21.5 billion), plastics and articles thereof ( 2.0 billion), and boilers, machinery, mechanical goods; parts thereof ( 849.7 million).

Non-Oil Exports

Non-oil exports from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia in March 2026 reached a total of 79.9 million. The main non-oil exports were machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment, parts thereof ( 33.0 million), products of the chemical industries ( 18.0 million), and plastics, rubber and their articles ( 16.5 million).

Saudi Arabia's imports from Malaysia in 2025 reached a total of 6.1 billion. The main section wise imports in terms of commercial value were electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof ( 1.0 billion), animal or vegetable fats, oils and waxes ( 890.7 million), and copper and articles thereof ( 808.9 million).

In 2024, 2.9 billion in FDI stock were recorded, being higher by 10.5% compared to the previous year.

FDI Flow

In 2024, the value of the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Inflow was 282.1 million while the FDI Outflow reached a value of 10.1 million. These amounts resulted in an FDI Net Inflow of 272.0 million, higher by 132.4% than the previous year.

Note:

FDI inflows: Financial transactions that arise between the FDI institution, direct investors and related companies outside the Saudi economy, which occur during a certain period of time, and form inflows when their positive impact appears in excess of equity and/or debt instruments.

FDI outflows: These are financial transactions that arise between the Foreign Direct Investment Corporation, direct investors, and related companies outside the Saudi economy, and which occur during a certain period of time. They are outflows when their impact appears in a decrease in the side of obligations, such as paid dividends or repayment of loans and credit receivables, or when the foreign shareholder exits.

FDI net inflow: It represents the difference between inflows and outflows of foreign direct investment inflows.
